1. Overview
Novira is a creator publishing tools platform, currently in open beta. We offer subscription plans for creators and readers, and one-time Expansion Credit purchases where checkout is available.
Payments on Novira are processed by third-party payment providers. The active provider, currency, taxes, and total amount are shown at checkout before you pay. Depending on your region and the product being purchased, checkout may be handled by Razorpay, Gumroad, or another payment partner we name at the time of purchase. Novira does not store your card details.
2. Subscription Plans
Novira offers the following monthly subscription plans where billing is enabled. Prices are displayed before checkout in the currency supported for your region or payment provider. If local pricing is unavailable, prices may default to USD or another currency shown by the checkout provider.
- Beta Creator Supporter: $2.99/month
- Creator Pro: $7.99/month
- Beta Reader Pass: $2.99/month
2.1 How Billing Works
Subscriptions are billed monthly on the date you first subscribed unless the checkout page clearly says otherwise. Your plan renews automatically unless you cancel before the next billing date. You will receive a payment receipt by email after each successful charge.
2.2 Cancellation
You may request cancellation at any time from your account Settings page where self-service cancellation is available, or by emailing [email protected] from your registered email address. Some payment providers may also require cancellation through their checkout, receipt, or customer portal. Cancellation is complete when Novira or the payment provider confirms it.
When a recurring subscription is cancelled successfully, access normally remains active until the end of your current billing period, after which the plan will not renew.
We do not charge cancellation fees.
2.3 Refunds on Subscriptions
Because digital subscriptions grant immediate access to platform features and credits, subscription payments are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. This is consistent with standard practice for digital subscription products.
However, we may issue a refund at our discretion in the following situations:
- You were charged after attempting to cancel, due to a technical error on our side
- You were double-charged due to a billing system failure
- You did not receive access to the plan features you paid for due to a platform error
To request a subscription refund, email [email protected] within 7 days of the charge with your registered email address and a brief description of the issue.
2.4 Free Trial / Beta Period
During open beta, no free trial periods apply. The pricing listed on the Pricing page is the final amount you will be charged at the time of purchase.
3. Translation & Expansion Credits
We offer two distinct types of credit purchases to cover different platform translation and content needs:
- Creator Expansion Credits (50-pack): $5.99 (one-time). Used by published creators to submit novel chapters or comic pages for AI-assisted translation and editing on the creator dashboard.
- Standalone Translation Credits: One-time packs used for ephemeral manga and image file translation:
- Translate Starter (75 credits): $2.99
- Translate Standard (250 credits): $7.99
- Translate Pro (700 credits): $19.99
3.1 Non-Refundable Once Allocated or Used
Credits of both types are non-refundable once consumed for translation. This is because translation processing begins immediately, incurring computational API and cloud server processing fees. If credits were purchased but never delivered due to a payment or platform error, we will correct the balance or issue a refund where appropriate.
3.2 Unspent Credits
One-time credit packs you have purchased but not yet used remain in your account unless the checkout page or product description says otherwise. Credits included in a monthly subscription are granted for that billing cycle and may not roll over. If Novira discontinues any credit features, we will notify affected users and provide either a fair credit migration, replacement access, or refund where legally required or appropriate.
3.3 Refund on Purchase Error
If you were charged for credits that were never added to your account due to a payment or system error, contact us within 7 days and we will resolve it promptly (either by adding the credits or issuing a full refund of the failed transaction).

5. Exceptions & Discretionary Refunds
We understand that unusual situations happen. We reserve the right to issue refunds outside of the above policy where we deem it fair and appropriate. Examples where we may grant an exception:
- A significant platform outage that prevented you from using the service you paid for
- A genuine billing error on our side
- Other exceptional circumstances reviewed case-by-case
Exceptions are evaluated case-by-case and are not guaranteed. Requesting an exception does not guarantee approval.
6. Disputes & Chargebacks
We encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
If a payment is disputed or charged back, we may temporarily suspend related access or credits while the issue is reviewed.
If your payment was processed by an external checkout provider, that provider may manage part of the dispute, tax, or refund workflow. We will cooperate with the provider and with you to resolve billing issues fairly.
